Class of 2026 Graduation

Everything you need to know for graduation:

Cap and gown

By now, you should have completed the graduation form that was shared in the newsletter and handed out during your senior class meeting. If you are unsure whether you completed the form, please stop by the main office and check in with
Ms. Ashley. Caps and gowns will be distributed May 28 through June 3 after graduation requirements have been verified.

Graduation requirements:

Students must have 27 credits
All books must be returned
Any outstanding fines must be paid
Chromebooks must be returned

Diplomas

This year diplomas will not be mailed. A student or guardian will need to come pick it up in the main office after graduation. Students will need to return their gowns in person to receive their diplomas. If a student is unable to come right after graduation, Fridley High School will remain open during the summer months. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Graduating with honors

Seniors graduating with honors do not need to pre-order honor accessories. Honor accessories will be passed out at the Scholastic
Achievement Banquet on May 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. A list of seniors eligible to graduate with honors will be posted in May.

Senior day party

Celebrate graduation with your fellow Fridley High classmates. This year the senior party will take place during the school day. This long standing tradition is planned, sponsored and supervised by parents of Fridley High School.

The senior day party will take place on Wednesday, June 3, during school hours from 8:10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Smash Park in Roseville, Minnesota. This event is free, and a signed permission slip is mandatory to attend. Permission slips will go out mid-April. Permission slips will be due Friday, May 29th.

Students will not be able to drive themselves to the venue. If students miss the bus and drive themselves, they will be turned away.

Ceremony Details

The commencement ceremony honoring the Class of 2026 will be held on Friday, June 5th, at 5:00 p.m. at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in downtown Saint Paul.

Tickets and Seating

Tickets are required for admission to the ceremony. If you have a child under 2, they will be considered a lap child and no ticket will be required. Each student will receive 12 tickets. If a student does NOT need all 12 tickets, they can distribute them amongst peers who may be in need of more tickets. There will be NO extra tickets this year.

Tickets will be distributed May 28 through June 3 at the same time students receive their caps and gowns.

Doors will open 1 hour and 15 minutes (3:45 p.m.) before the ceremony. The venue is handicap accessible. If you or a family member needs ADA seating, please email Ashley at adavis@isd14.org to reserve a seat.

Transportation and Parking

All seniors will be transported to Roy Wilkins Auditorium by bus. Graduates should meet at Fridley High School by 11:00 a.m. and should be wearing their caps and gowns. Buses will depart at 1:00 p.m.

Guests can park across the street in the Rivercentre Parking Ramp at 150 W Kellogg Blvd, St Paul, MN 55102. There are roughly 1700 spaces. Parking will run $15 to $20. The ramp is connected by skyway to Roy Wilkins.

Parents, we encourage you to take your graduates home after the ceremony. However, there will be busing available for graduates back to FHS if needed.

Students will be allowed to leave their car in the FHS parking lot overnight the night of graduation.

Commencement Ceremony

The ceremony will include a processional, recessional, group recognitions, student speakers, and the awarding of diplomas.
Balloons and noisemakers will not be allowed in Roy Wilkins Auditorium!
We ask that you hold your applause until all scholars' names have been announced.
Single-compartment bags (maximum size of 16”x16”x8”) are allowed into Roy Wilkins Auditorium. These include purses, clutch purses, single-compartment tote bags, clear bags, drawstring bags, diaper bags, single-compartment soft-sided coolers, fanny packs and bags containing medically necessary items. We recommend that guests come without bags if possible.
Every guest will walk through metal detectors before entering the auditorium.
The graduation will be streamed live on Youtube.

Instructions for Graduates

Do NOT bring personal belongings. There is no place to store them.
Students may wear a stole reflecting their culture that must be pre-approved by Aloda Sims by May 29.
Students may NOT decorate their caps.
Graduates will be handed an empty diploma cover when they cross the stage. This year we will NOT be mailing diplomas. Students will need to return their gown in person at the high school and in return we will hand them their diploma. FHS will be open all summer, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
